Under the Advocacy Council, the Gender Equity Initiative in Global Surgery promotes discussions on related topics on multiple platforms. In addition to our event planning, the Advocacy Council also organizes Twitter Chats to discuss topical and specific questions related to gender equity in the surgery, anesthesia, and obstetrics fields. International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Since 1911, March 8th has marked a call to action for accelerating women's equality. It also serves as a call to action for advancing women's equality. The goal of the IWD 2024 #InspireInclusion campaign is to collectively forge a more inclusive world for women, aligning with this year's theme of Inspire Inclusion.
