CHAIRS

Brenda Feres (She/Her)
Brazil / Russia

Brazilian medical doctor who graduated from Kursk State Medical University in Russia. She is a researcher at Harvard PGSSC Team Brazil and a member of the Conflicts & Disasters working group at the G4 Alliance. Co-Author for publications on Global Surgery and disparities in Gender and Surgical Care, she is an aspiring Trauma surgeon aiming to expand access to safe surgical care in underserved and crisis-affected settings.

Jill Mayunga (She/Her)

Kenya

Medical Doctor from Kenya, who serves as a Global Surgery Advocacy Fellow at Operation Smile, in collaboration with the Nkafu Policy Institute and the UGHE. With experience on advancing gender-responsive reforms across Africa’s health systems, she is the Founder of the Surgical Work and Equity Lab (SWEL), a think tank dedicated to examining how people, systems, and policies intersect to shape the surgical workforce.

Rabbey Khan (He/His)
Pakistan

Medical intern and aspiring surgeon-scientist from Pakistan, driven by a commitment to global health, equity, and surgical education. His experience spans disaster medicine and gender-based violence awareness, working on initiatives that encourage empathy in crisis contexts. Through years of involvement with international health organizations, he has focused on building spaces where collaboration can lead to tangible change.

Hannah Paraquett (She/They)
Brazil / Argentina

Queer Health Advocate and aspiring Ortho-Trauma Surgeon. Dr. Paraquett is a medical doctor from the University of Buenos Aires and a MSc Candidate in Sports Medice, working in the Emergency and Trauma Department of rural Argentine communities. Born and raised in Brazil, she is passionate about advocacy, gender equity, and orthopedic care. With past experience in trauma and disaster response at the Red Cross, she is committed to improving mobility care worldwide
